Inner Potential

Question: How can I execute my inner potential?

Answer:

The very noble Albert Einstein was a little slow in his growth development. When he was a kid, he had problems like speech impairment and being unresponsive. Back then, the students at the school would call him ‘dumb’. However, he had worked so hard that he had succeeded in becoming a noble scientist.

Yet, even the noble scientist could have made mistakes at times. There was once when he was taking a train in Berlin, he miscalculated the fare and had a little argument with the officer. After that, people’s been calling him a fool who doesn’t even count.

The famous author of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” once dropped out from the school at the age of 12 because he hated to study. But it seems so coincidental then at the age of 14, he found an abandoned book, “The Legend of Joan Of Arc”. Ever since then, he’d grow interest in history and his passion to study was re-ignited. Upon his determination and his effort, in the end he became an imaginative and magnificent author.

Hence, we should never judge a person’s life by their performance at an early age. This will not conclude whether someone will be successful someday.

Some people are good at memorizing, some are good in creativity, but Einstein’s a good example who’s better at creativity than memory. What’s important here, is that he never gave up on himself upon the failures he’s gone through. He continued exploring every possibility, be creative as he gave his best effort.

Every now and then, people would ask if everyone has a talent of their own. There is no doubt that, some people are fond of drawing, and some are good in music. If we were to compare people with talent with people that don’t, a same effort from them would marks the one who’d got a talent to have an outstanding improvement.

A brain physiologist, Babu Rove once proposed a principle that says “talent can be nurtured through effort”. In other words, we could uplift our ability, skill, and talent of we’re able of constantly improving ourselves in relation to the effort we make. Hence, do not worry if you think that you’ve got no talent. Be determined to train yourself and become someone that could contribute to the society someday.

Mr. Ikeda once said that “Effort is the most important thing. You must put more effort than others. Is there a mission? Is there responsibility? This is what we should question. Hence if you have this, you may not call yourself a person without talent. You will be able to shine brilliantly when you have faith.” Everyone must have got their own potential. Before we could discover any, don’t give up. If you’ve given up halfway through, you might not be able to discover your true potential.

When there is faith in us and extra effort from us, we will soon be successful someday!
