The Dreamer’s Paper Plane – Preface

Do you still remember how to fold a paper plane? Who was the one holding your hand when you first folded a paper plane?

All I could recall was living nearby a sea when I was a kid. Since I liked playing paper planes, I took a pile of old newspapers, started folding them into paper planes, and flew them towards the sea. The higher they soared, the happier I was. I always imagined that maybe someday, I could sit on the paper plane and soar to the blue sky. How fun would that be! The method of folding a paper plane is imprinted into my memory, and with it, I grew up gradually.

Folding a paper plane is simple and easy to understand. With just 6 simple steps, a sheet of paper could easily soar above the sky without any trouble. Its invention, takes us back to China 2000 years ago where evolution and development of kite took place, and in Western Country in the year of 1903 where the birth of this theory took place after a scientific experiment was done. The invention of paper plane was indeed a remarkable proof on the evolution of human’s intelligence. Today, our dream of flying above the sky has become a reality.

Hence, this blog is named “The Dreamer’s Paper Plane”. Because just like our children are sheets of papers as white as snow, whether or not they could soar above the sky, it is up to us, fostering coaches; whether or not they could flutter high enough, it depends on our sincerity and hard work. None from the 6 steps should be left out.

We must first have an enormous dream before fulfilling all these. Just as Martin Luther King’s enthusiastic ambition. He once gave a speech that said: “I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; “and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together." This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.” At last, his ambition was achieved. Together with his people’s effort, separation and discrimination of different races was announced illegal by America’s parliament through the Law of Civil Liberties in the year of 1964.

What about us? What would Junior Division PICs’ dreams be?

I believe that you would all say: “Guiding Junior Division to be the little bright sun of the twenty first century!” This is a significant mission. President Ikeda once said: “There’s no special technique and shortcut when it comes to educating children. Just like a math equation, our sincerity will be equivalent to their growth. Our serious attitude for the sake of our mission, will establish our children’s foundation. The phase from toddler’s period marching towards their lives, what kind of friends they might meet, or what kind of adults they are with, giving them a word or two as encouragement is so crucial.” It’s better to praise them for their merit, than to criticize them for their weak point – This is the code of training people. Let us perceive our children’s possibilities in a wider range. Hence, President Ikeda appealed: “I have my particular mission, and you have your distinctive task, too.”

Accordingly, “The Dreamer’s Paper Plane” will be launched on the 3rd of July, greeting everyone with a fresh new appearance. Our main functions are to:
- study and share the advice from President Ikeda to Junior Division’s PICs, as activity and personal practice guidance.
- provide a platform for Junior Division’s PICs all around the country to share their opinions and thoughts.
- improve the creativity of personal and children’s literature, arts, talent, ability, and knowledge.

There are four main staffs contributing to this blog. I am “Primitive”, the Paper Plane’s chief pilot, and there are 3 more assistant pilots, which are KLR5 “Heroism”, KLR3 “Happy”, and KLR5 “Hope”.

Lastly, we hope to acquire great support from all of you. More importantly, read more, write more, and send us your article! Let us embrace ourselves with determination! And also continuously making the principle of human revolution as a positive inference for our children. Helping our children to grow robustly, pacing towards a right life. Let us show them the highest spirit of Mentor and Disciple!

*Remark: According to the world record, the longest period for a paper plane to soar is 27.9 seconds. Can you break the record?
