Question: If I were to be mandated as a class monitor, how can I ignite the passion and lead among the students?
Answer:
Relationships could be tough at times. Ikeda Sensei once said that “’Leading’ is an important knowledge. The more we urged the others to obey us, the greater the resistance would be. If we lead with mere power, with the way of ‘Do as what I told you’, it might ended up the other way round from what we intended.”
While contacting the classmates, there are times we may get unconcerned response, yet we should not hold back from doing so. Thus, how do we ignite the ‘passion’ among each other? Firstly, we have to love our mission, and this would eventually ignite the true force in achieving an earnest effort. A Japanese entrepreneur once said “One’s attitude and enthusiasm could be the yardstick of one’s passion. In order to succeed in every task, we should possess a great amount of enthusiasm in the first place.” When we show great sincerity in our conversation, the people would have been influenced from within.
To all the class monitors, it is encouraged that you pray for the success of your classmates in our daily prayer. Albeit it might consume some more time, but somehow our prayer will eventually be convened to them. Try jotting down the classmates’ names and place them in front of the Gohonzon to pray for them. As a result, this will literally congregate everyone together. On the contrary, if our intention is merely to dominate everyone, then it will only bring failure.
In conclusion, we should not promote individualistic mindset but mutual aim in our hearts, in order to congregate everyone together. It would be adequate if we were capable of bridging everyone to a same vision, to march towards an aim together. I hope that you could unleash the true confidence and courage in advancing your vision. Let’s strive to become great capable person.
