Overcoming Weakness
Question:
How do I overcome academic subjects or things that I'm weak at?

Answer:

Even the adults have things that they're weak and things that they need to challenge at too. What's important is that we never give up when we encounter things that we don't know/we're weak at. If we chose to run away from it, we would never succeed in the end. Hence, we must always have the spirit to exceed the limitations, and achieve more.

Ikeda Sensei was a shy boy when he was young. He likes reading, and it's often that he would have dialogues with the sky, the clouds, and the sea.

This is why it's a big struggle and challenge for Ikeda Sensei when he joined Toda Sensei's company, where he had to meet people, to talk with people, and to arrange all kinds of work.

But according to Ikeda Sensei, "Just because it's the things we are weak at, we have to take it as a chance to train ourselves to overcome it. We must not back down from it. I'd chant everyday before I head to work, hence, I became stronger and energetic.".

Everyone has his/her weakness. However, there are still people that would feel troubled when they don't understand how a mathematical solution works. But when we could overcome it and obtain victory from it, we'd be joyful for it.

As Nichiren Daishonin said "The purpose of learning is to become a capable person that shines with great spirit. Hence, achieving a good or bad result isn't the main point. The important thing is that we do not back down from problems, but to have the habit to keep on challenging.". As for the subjects that we are weak at, what we should do is to not give up easily, and take it as an opportunity for our growth and improvement.

Anyhow, we must work hard to achieve something. Never give up even if we only obtained a tiny bit of achievement, keep on challenging!
