Blooming Colours

 “Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!”

The fireworks bloom their colours one after another in a dark blue sky. They’ve filled colours for the night as if the city was painted colourful. The silent city turned lively as the colours sang in joy. But as the colours faded, nobody would give a tiny little bit of attention to the things left behind – dust.

The more charming a firework may appear in the sky, the more dust it may produce. No one would notice that dust was actually a kind of motivation force for the firework. It marks the great chemistry between explosives and other materials. However, I wish only to be as amazing as a firework, but not willing to leave filthy dust behind. Nobody would appreciate dust like they do on the fireworks. It feels like as if their input was useless. The people would only remember the colours of firework, and they’d think that the dust left behind is filthy.

In a field of grass, there were a few butterflies dancing their way through. Out of a sudden, a dull and lazy field was painted with their colours. From what we see, they may appear to be soaring elegantly. However, nobody knows their secret behind those pretty wings. Before a caterpillar could grow wings and turn themselves into a butterfly, they had to undergo a state of being a pupa. According to what I’ve heard, the prettier their wings are, the uglier their pupa used to be. It’s sad that most would want to own something as charming as a butterfly’s wings, but no one wished to under the process of having an ugly pupa. In another point of view, when they appeared more beautiful, they could easily catch the eyes of their hunter. This signifies that when we’re becoming a successful person in life, there could be many hardships and challenges that trouble us. Hence, a successful person would have to face all sort of test in the same time.

Nothing comes with perfection. When we wished to win, we must undergo all the tests in life. The brighter a firework is, the more dust it produces. Even the butterflies have gone through a period of struggle before they could transform themselves into gracious creatures. Sometimes in life, our input may not necessarily bring us any result. Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean that they’ve gone to waste. They simple became steps that we take to become a stronger person such that we could face the problems and challenge in the future with greater courage and wisdom.
