Nowadays, children grew up in an overprotected environment where they don’t have to do anything for themselves. When there’s housework to do, there’s always a maid waiting; when they need anything, their mother is always there. Hence, this time we are going to share some activities that’ll let the children understand how hard it is to do the housework, and learn to rely lesser on their maid or mother. More importantly, we must let the children know that they too, can contribute in a family.
Preparation:
1. Some PICs would have to first contribute their cars (but be aware of the possibility that your cars could get scratched or anything)
2. The JDs can be grouped to wash different cars, but they must organize the different parts of the cars to be washed. (e.g.: window, tyres, interior of the car, etc.)
3. The number of JDs should be grouped evenly according to the number of the cars.
4. While they’re washing the cars, the JDs could try and figure out which part of the car that they’re washing, and what could happen if this part of the car is excluded.
As they wash the cars, JDs could practice to finish a task on their own and exercise on how to organize their task.
Conclusion:
As the JDs finish their task with a spirit of teamwork, they are also training their spirit of itai doshin. They might be washing different parts of the cars, but their aim is the same, which is to clean the car. This exemplifies that we could have different pose, different task, or different actions, but as long as we’re striving towards the same aim, we’re practicing the spirit of itai doshin.
Next on, we shall never forget to discuss the importance of the part of the cars that they were washing.
Discussion:
Other than the parts that you were washing just now, there are more small and detail parts of the cars which is important too. Without them, a car wouldn’t be able to function. Similarly, everyone in the organization is also important. No matter how small a screw could be, it could still have its important function. If we could keep on striving with the spirit of itai doshin like this, we could achieve victory someday.
Mr. Toda once vowed “For the sake of kosen-rufu, the organization of itai doshin is linking everyone’s heart with the most ideal manner. None of the evilness can break such organization as strong as solid gold.”
From now on, we must accomplish and achieve our mentors’ aim with the spirit of itai doshin.
