A Trip to New Human Revolution
This is an activity based on the sharing of story from the “New Human Revolution”. The “New Human Revolution” always links us to our mentor, Mr. Ikeda who had go round the world for global kosen-rufu.

For example, the “New Human Revolution – Rising Sun” talks about Mr. Ikeda’s first destination of global kosen-rufu at Hawaii. It talks about the encounters of Mr. Ikeda with the people and their culture, their dialogues and how Mr. Ikeda encouraged them in Hawaii.

Taking the story as the topic of the day, we will have to make several arrangements.

Preparations:

1.    Junior Division Passport (example: SGM/SGI/ code of your own district KLR4H2C3)
2.    Air tickets with seat numbers (example: Soka Airlines A1)
3.    A stamp for emmigration (the purpose of this is to let them know how is the process is being done when you were to leave the country. This could also be used as a record of their attendance such that they will never miss any flights (of the meeting).)

If we were to use the “New Human Revolution – Rising Sun” as the topic of the day, we would then have to decorate the venue as if it was Hawaii. We could prepare food or clothing of Hawaii (example: shirts with flowers printed on it, or even garland).  After that, we could even get use of ropes to make a shape of a plane to arrange the seats as if we were really getting on a real plane. The main purpose of these is to make the JDs feel like they’ve taken a flight to Hawaii, going along the global kosen-rufu together with our mentor.

Procedures:

1.    To begin the JD Meet of the day, there are several aims we should chant for. First, we must chant that we land on Hawaii safely, then, we’ll have a very great experience from this trip, lastly, may the water of global kosen-rufu flows continuously.
2.    After they “checked in” and grabbed their seats. We’re ready to fly! First of, the PIC can talk about Mr. Ikeda’s vow towards his mentor, Mr. Toda and the purpose of global kosen-rufu. (the information can be gathered in the New Human Revolution)
3.    After that, it’s time we arrive at Hawaii. Hence, we could suggest sharing of the Hawaiian Culture and tradition such as the way they dress, their dance, games, and even their food.
4.    Lastly, we must never forget to bring out the message and purpose of Mr. Ikeda’s visit to Hawaii. We may discuss about topics such as “Why did Mr. Ikeda go there?”, “Who is the global kosen-rufu for?”, “Why should it be done?”.

Conclusion:

As JD PICs, we must be able to link our children towards Mr. Ikeda. But how could we do that? The “New Human Revolution” is a good book for us to get close to our mentor. In the same time, the PICs too, get to be closer to the mentor while we prepare all these activities.

“New Human Revolution” is a book that records the mentor’s challenges and footsteps of global kosen-rufu. Through this book, we could learn about the great fighting spirit of our mentors and all the people for the sake of everyone’s happiness. Plus, we also get to share the spirit of mentor and disciple as we see how our mentors have been challenging with a strong faith.

A famous educator from Venezuela, Simon Rodriguez once wrote a letter to his disciple, Simon Bolivar. In the letter, he wrote ‘To realize my blueprint, your existence is indispensable; and to realize your blueprint, my existence is indispensable.’

We could never accomplish a huge task in a day or so, but it requires effort of generations. This goes the same for kosen-rufu. Without the spirit of itai-doshin between mentor and disciple, the great task may not be able to be accomplished.

“New Human Revolution” is where we learn the great spirit of mentor and disciple, and where we pass the spirit on generations by generations.
