Smile. Instead of saying it as the result of happiness, why not view it as the cause for happiness.
——Mr. Ikeda
Smile can be said as the fragrant, strongly scented and brightly coloured flower of the soul! Your smile would enable people to feel your gentle disposition. Although there may be tough and troubled times, but you must bear in mind that as long as you smile, the world will ceaselessly expand with your warmth.
Can a child cheerfully attend school? It all comes down to the start of the day.
Although the time may be short and brief, mothers should smile as they see their children off to school. Besides that, whenever your child wants to talk to you, you mustn’t show your troubled expression but attentively listen to their hearts content instead. This way, your child will feel at ease.
If there is no smile in our life, it is comparable to a flower which doesn’t blossom. No matter how harsh reality may be, we mustn’t forget the sense of humour. Just like our mentor, if you take note of sensei’s speech in every meeting, his speech isn’t strict or boring but instead it’s humorous and witty.
At times, Mr. Ikeda also comes across some people who sighed with regret unable to find joy in life and hoping that others would lend them a hand. True happiness isn’t presented to us by others but it is up to us to create it!
Complaints are actually matters in which even after you say it out, it is of no help at all. Same applies to when you are determined ‘not to complain’; it is also of no help at all. This is the belief Kaneko Ikeda holds. Perhaps it is her strong willed strict discipline on herself is what gave me a great support.
Kaneko Ikeda is a person who never forgets to say thank you no matter what happens. She said: ‘Even if unfavourable matters arise, as long as we carry the spirit of ‘This is an opportunity for me to strengthen myself and enable me to grow! I am grateful.’ This way, complaints and grievances will diminish and you will become more cheerful.
I hope that you will always carry a smile, possessing a sun like life force and becoming one who is praised, trusted, admired and a person who is rich in general knowledge.
