KL R2 Junior concert interview (reported by Hope and Heroism)
We may not have a proper stage and we may not have any professional standards. But what we have a sincere heart. The touching part is that the JDs are full willing to participate. Despite that we practiced less then 10 times but we still succeed in this JD concert. Before this concert, Hope and Heroism is the paper pilot’s writer. We actually interviewed three junior division PIC to share their experience. Bellow is the following interview:

Hope: How long have you become a PIC?

Hon Sock Fan (Fan): about 8 years or so.

Hope: what are you in charge for tonight’s concert?

Fan: I’m actually in charge to take care the JDs and to keep an eye on them during practices. I am also helping in prepare the props too.

Hope: Obviously everyone knows that the kids are really hyperactive. How did you even manage to control all these kids during practices?

Fan: When the JDs get really naughty or they won’t listen to me, I’ll tell them that they should take this practice seriously in an angry voice. Besides that, I will also chant for the wisdom to handle the JDs. Not to mention that I also have read a lot of Sensei’s books for guidance.

Hope: Can you share your experience during the run of the concert?

Fan: Although whole the process for this concert to happen is very difficult, and not to mention there is also the rise of H1N1. That’s the reason why we have to reduce the practices. Not more than ten practices and we’re up for the show! Regardless of that, I’ve never forgotten Sensei’s guidance. That is; “If we don’t guide the JD now, there won’t be any following leaders.” So no matter how difficult is it to make the concert happen, I’ll persevere until the end. It makes me so happy to see the JDs grow and learn. This feeling is indescribable.

Hope: What is the happiest moment for you during the concert?

Fan: The happiest thing I felt is that there is 30 JD who actually participate in our concert. Back then, there weren’t even up to 20 JDs! Is not easy to have or maintain 30 JDs attendance. Besides that, getting to cooperate with other youth division is a bonus too. There’s isn’t any blaming or complaints going on around during the concert and they are really helpful also. For an example, they would help to prepare the props in my house until midnight. Which, I’m extremely grateful about that.

Impression:

I felt that Ah fan is a very charismatic and energetic woman. She may be a woman division member, but she has the heart and the spirit like the youths. This is the most vulnerable thing.

Another one is Lim Chun Kit who in charge for the decorations.

Hope: How long have you become a PIC?

Kit: I took up the PIC mission since last year. It’s almost been a year now.

Hope: Why did you become a PIC in junior division?

Kit: It was probably because of my mother. You see, back then, I was only half willing to be a PIC and the other half was because of my mother. (The mother’s name is Fun)

Hope: I heard that you’re in charge of JD Music Concert as the art crew. By judging that, I assume that you must really love art. How did your passion for art even started?

Kit: I actually have a deep passion for drawing since young. I recalled back once a PIC suggested me to take part as a JD art crew. I didn’t really care much about it in the first place and I just randomly said yes. To think back, I’m really grateful towards that PIC. He actually trusted me and gave me the opportunity to become a PIC.

Hope: Where did you get your inspiration for art from?

Kit: When I wanted to draw, I’ll just draw. It just comes to me naturally. Other than that, I’ll search in the internet to find more information. That actually gives me ideas for the next art project I’m working on.

Hope: Thru the whole process of the JD Music Concert preparation, is there any times where you are emotionally touched?

Kit: The most touching part ever is when I saw all the other PIC’s did their job full heartily. They even came to my house just to help me out with the art until 2 in the morning! They really put a lot of effort just to make this JD Music Concert work. That is really an unforgettable time for me.

Hope: Through your journey as a JD PIC, what would you like to contribute more?

Kit: I would continue this path no matter what, and spread my happiness and joy to the JD. And I also hope that I can pass my art technique to them too.

Hope: Marvelous! We’ll hope that your wishes and hopes will be achieved.

Heroism: May I know your name?

Kenjo: My name is Kenjo.

Heroism: May I know what you’re in charge in for this JD Concert?

Kenjo: This JD Concert is actually divided in to 3 categories. First is choir. Second is dancing and the third is fashion show. I’m actually in charge of the choir group.

Heroism: How long does it take for you to coach them in choir?

Kenjo: About a month ago, our district’s junior group just held a Junior Music Concert.

Heroism: During the practices for the concert, what difficulties did you face?

Kenjo: Ah! Nolah. Only some particular juniors may be playful. However, there are also some juniors who are really quiet and obedient.

Heroism: How would you react where you’re faced with “active” juniors?

Kenjo: During playtime, I will let them play as much as they want. But when it’s the time for practice already, they have to be serious.

Heroism: Can you share your impression to us as a PIC in the concert?

Kenjo: I’ve realized that after this concert, I and the JDs got even closer than ever before. I can even explain sensei’s the philosophy of life to them too.

Impression:

Even though this is just a small JD concert, we can see that they really put all of their effort in just to make the concert happen and to realize the hidden potential in every JD. I hope that they can nurture more future generation leaders so that they can also contribute to the society too. They can complete this concert with a success despite that they only had a little time to practice only. Besides that, I’ve also seen a lot of PICs who also shared a little of their experience too. We can see that the concert had left a big impact on them. If you noticed, most of the youth division and the women division member had helped out a lot in this time’s concert. We obviously felt their perseverance to nurture the future generation for the sake of kosen rufu.
