Diagram 1
Diagram 2
1. Diagram 1 & 2 are the drawings from a boy studying primary school. Usually he’s more active when he’s at the school. After his whole day of lesson at the school, he’ll be sent to some talent classes. His parents will only pick him up to home at 8pm as they are very busy with their work in the office.
2. Diagram 1 shows how he and his family have their dinner. It is hardly believable that they are eating on a separate/different table. Shouldn’t a family dinner be eaten all together in the same table? Well, this has shown that there is a distance between him and his parents, there’s hardly any interaction. Maybe he has been dining by himself, whereas the busy parents dine separately. In other words, they might be using the same table, but not at the same time. Take a look at the right corner of this drawing. Even his and his parents’ rooms are far away from each other. This drawing is bringing a lonely atmosphere.
3. Then, this child drew diagram 2 of a house with 2 rooms. The one on the left shows himself having a meal while his parents were watching the television. The other one on the right still shows his parents watching the television, but there’s no sight of him. According to him, he said he went to the washroom. Both the rooms didn’t bring out anything that’s quite related. From here we know that his relationship with his parents wasn’t so well.
4. From outside, this child’s life might seem quite enriched. Talent classes after school, one program after another, do you really think that this is good to the child? There is no doubt that these classes or programs might help build up our children’s character, but isn’t it more important for us to care about them through their hearts? Just as President Ikeda said, children are our future, our greatest treasure we could have possessed. Parents are playing a crucial role in the growth of the children to guide them and to encourage them. It’s a pity when children are lacking of love and care just because parents intended to provide them a better life. No matter how busy our lives could be, we should always follow President Ikeda’s guidance, and help our children grow up healthily, and let these happy little seeds grow into big trees.
