The guidance of "Mission"
To my Darling JDs,

Do you know that every one of us is born with a mission? Yes! You too have your own mission.
I always love the short poem [above] by Ikeda sensei. It reminds me that I am special in my own way.

How do I discover my mission in life?

First of all, I know I won't find it by standing still. What's important is that I challenge myself in something, it doesn't matter what. Then by making consistent effort, the direction I should take will open up before me naturally. It's important to have the courage to ask myself what I should be doing now at this very moment.

The key, in other words, Sensei says, “It is to climb the mountain that is right before you. As you climb its slopes, you will develop your muscles, increasing your strength and stamina. Such training will enable you to challenge still higher mountains. It is very important that you continue making such efforts.”

For example, previously I was weak in English. I challenged myself by reading more English books and communicating more in English to anyone I knew, without feeling ashamed of making any grammar mistake or wrong pronunciation. Today, I am able to talk fluent English and able to write good articles. Of course I still make mistake here and there as I am not perfect, but I am improving myself from time to time.

Sensei also encourages us to climb the mountain in front of us. When you reach the summit, wide new horizons will stretch out before you. Little by little, you will understand your mission.
Those who remember they have a unique mission are the strong ones. Whatever their problems are, they will never be defeated. They can transform all of their problems into growth towards a hope-filled future.

Life is about scaling one mountain, then facing the next one, followed by the one after that. Those who keep trying and finally succeeding in conquering the highest mountain are victors in life. On the other hand, those who avoid such challenges and take the easy route, descending into the valleys, will end in defeat. To put it simply, we have two choices in life: We can either climb the mountain before us or go down into the valley.
“People always have many different roles to play. The crucial thing is to be determined to make a wholehearted effort in everything and be fully engaged in what we are doing at any given moment. The secret to successfully fulfilling a variety of roles is to concentrate fully on the task at hand and give it our best effort with enthusiasm, maintaining a positive, forward-looking attitude and not worrying.”
- Daisaku Ikeda

So, darlings… What is your mission now? Think about it, write it down and try to work towards it! You do not need to answer anyone else except yourself.
