All of you must be clear that a good foundation will never be built unless there is hard work, and a weak foundation could not retain challenges. Those who wish to escape from suffering, going through short cuts, and those who are cunning will invariably come to a fall in the end.
——Ikeda sensei
Is it hard to study? Is it hard to do the homework? Is it hard to deal with school examinations? Is it hard to go for practices before an actual performance?
If we ever want to get a good result, then we should arrange some time to study. Sometimes we might even have to sacrifice the time to play. If we ever want to present a perfect performance, we would have to give our effort and practice. If we just depend on luck and never practically give our effort, then we well never succeed.
For example, you might think that you could cheat in the exam and get a good result by this way. But at the end, you'll be unhappy for it, and it might even make your future results worse. Hence, it is crucial that we give our effort practically. This is just the same as a huge tree. The tree could only stand tall and steady with the effort of the robust roots underground.
