Beethoven said: "We must be courageous!" Bravery is light, and cowardice is darkness. A courageous person is always the joyful one, whereas the cowardice one is the one that keep cringing in fear. Therefore, courage is happiness; cowardice is misery.
——Ikeda sensei
It's inevitable that we encounter many problems in our lives, such as: the fear of getting a bad examination result, the fear of being rejected by friends, the tension before a performance, or even the bashful feeling of not knowing how to apologize after a fight with your siblings.
We require courage to face all these things. Just as President Ikeda encouraged us with Beethoven's famous quote, a life without bravery is an unfortunate life. We can try chanting when we feel afraid or nervous. If the environment doesn't allow, we can also chant in our heart and do our silent prayer. This is definitely a good method. This way, our courage will gradually emerge!
